Secret!!

Image
Dear Blog Readers, I have a deep dark secret to share with you if you promise not to tell my big brother Sam. Well, you see... I like to play with his toys while he is napping. He doesn't share too well, so I ask mommy or daddy to give me his toys to play with before he gets up from a nap. I especially like his big yellow excavator, beats my little colorful rattle! And it even has this arm that goes in and out and makes a funny noise. And the little driver man, mmmmm... he tastes so good. I can't help but give a sly smile knowing my brother would be upset if he knew! Oh what fun to be had while Sam naps. I think I'll keep this up and keep hoping that he takes nice long naps:) Love, Andrew

Group Date Night

Image
Sunday night we had a blast going to Beef and Boards dinner theater for a group date seeing "Footloose"! We all cut loose and had such an awesome time! This date has been in the works since December when we all attended a wedding together and then had a night cap afterwards:) Anyway, it was a great time and next group date is in the works! We realized afterwards that this picture looks funny because of the way we are sitting plus the couple in the background, but oh well! Thanks for a fun night friends:)

Saturday Wrap-Up!

Well, no pictures today, just a quick update on our Saturday. - Hap completed week #6 of Upward Basketball. The gospel message was shared with all athletes this week during practice and we pray that the seeds that were planted will take root. - I completed a 5-mile race this morning. The Polar Bear was ran downtown and was a nice run. I completed it in 51minutes 16 seconds (10:20/mile), didn't hit my goal of below 51 minutes, but it felt good to do a race and another step closer to the mini in May! I am looking at a race in April to do next though. - While I was running and Hap was at Upward, Courtney came up from Bloomington to watch the boys. Sam had a blast with "Norney" and Andrew had some separation anxiety:) We enjoyed a nice lunch together before she headed back. We appreciated her coming and spending time with the kiddos. - Speaking of Andrew, he woke up with the other eye gunky, which I completely expected. They are looking better tonight and I am praying...

Yucky Gunk!

Image
No Andrew was no beaten up, but he did wake up with a good old fashioned case of pink eye!! YUCK!! It is all red and gunky (is that a word?) He is in a great mood though, playing and trying so hard to crawl. My poor baby still looks good to me:) Sam didn't actually have pink eye a few weeks ago, we think it was just an allergic reaction to his feather pillow but this is definitely pink eye and hopefully the drops will do the thing they do and heal it up!! Have a good Friday.

We Got Out Wednesday!

Image
We had plans to go to the museum today with some friends, but mom and girl both ended up sick, so we headed out by ourselves to the Children's Museum. I am SO thankful for a museum membership (thanks mom and dad). It is only about 15 minutes from us and it is a fun thing to do for a few hours. Sam has a blast and Andrew really enjoyed some of the little stuff, like the mirrors and cushy squares to play on. Once he starts crawling he will have even more fun. Sam loves it all of course. He enjoyed playing with the trains today. They have a huge steam engine that he enjoys exploring and also playing with the train table. The main reason we went today was to see the Bob the Builder exhibit. Sam loves Bob the Builder and can sing the theme song, so needless to say, he was excited to get to experience the exhibit today! I didn't get many pictures, but Sam "drove" all the Bob equipment, like Lofty, Rollie, and Scoop. Here the boys are sitting on Muck!! (They don...

Tuesday At Home

Image
The boys and I spent the majority of the day at home today. Sam went to school this morning but other than that, we were homebodies!! Which is always a nice. So, what does a 2 year old do when stuck inside all day? Load Gatorade bottles and soda bottles into his excavator... and unload them in his room! One of his new favorite things to do is perform for us. He comes by that naturally I'm afraid. He likes for us to pull out his mattress under his bed and he arranges his drum and piano. He will play the drum and then play on his instrument table. He gets its just how he wants it and goes to town. He keeps asking Hap for a microphone, so maybe for his birthday we'll get him a little karaoke thing with a microphone! At school today they handed out forms to register for next year. It was kinda bittersweet to see that Sam will be in the 3 year old class. It just seems so old and big to me. He is growing up and learning so much so quickly, it is so fun to watch his little brain f...

Happy Valentine's Day

From a monkey... And a little guy! Sorry for the lack of updates, we have been updating Sam's room. I will post pictures soon!

It's Snow Cold!

Image
Today, Sam invited his friends over to play in the snow with him. The big boys had a good time outside, while the little guys slept inside! The snow was pretty deep for Sam and Micah to walk in, but Lucas did great in it. It's fun to play with friends. At one point, one of the boys started to complain about how cold it was and he was threatened to sit in time out if he continued to complain. I was close to having to sit in time out myself, it was really cold when the wind blew!!:) They finished the morning by coming in and drinking some nice warm chocolate milk with some more play time! We are SOOO going to miss these guys (and their parents) when they move this summer:(

Blue.Monday.

Image
Well, yes, I guess you have heard that the Colts lost the Superbowl to the Who Dat? Saints. Sad, blue Monday in Indianapolis. These pictures hopefully will cheer you up:) Andrew had his first taste of mango in this little contraption. I don't remember what it is called, but they can gum it and get the juice without eating the actual fruit. He liked it I think?! Ben and Amanda came over to cheer on the Colts last night. The guys pretty well spent the night right here!! Sam did get off and cuddle with "Mandy" and fall asleep. We had a great time and glad they could spend the evening with us. Sam was hyped up to play some football tonight. This was Andrew's only interception... there was a flag on the play and Sam got the ball back quickly! Sam loves to run around and yell "Tackle Football", fall on the ground, roll around and act like he was tackled. We think it is hilarious! Happy Blue Monday!

A Friday in February

Image
Today was snowy day around here in Indianapolis. We skipped out on Bible Study this morning because Sam's eyes were red and I didn't know if it might be pink eye. Not typical pink eye symptoms, so I don't think so and a wise Dr friend suggested maybe it is an allergic reaction to something. So tonight we are going to try a different pillow. Andrew however is feeling much better and it is nice to see him flashing his charming smile today! Sam spent much of the morning looking outside and checking out the beautiful snow fall. Andrew enjoyed watching the snowfall too from the safety of his exercauser! On my first blog post over two years ago I have a picture of Sam looking outside at the snow fall too, check it out if you want to! I shoveled off the driveway tonight while Hap was driving home from Louisville. He does so much that I didn't want him to have to worry about that when he arrived home. It was fun to shovel and Sam enjoyed playing in the snow too. We hop...

A Superbowl Win... At Whose Expense?

Ok, so typically this blog is about the boys and our happenings during the day. Well, there is a flag on the play and I'm calling for an instant replay on the field. A decision was made by Indianapolis Public Schools to push back start time by two hours the Monday after the Superbowl to prevent a repeat of what happened three years ago when the Colts won. Apparently there was excessive celebration in the end-zone the night before by bus drivers, otherwise known as, too much partying the night before and drivers calling in "sick" the next day. This resulted in kids waiting on the bus in freezing cold weather in the morning and it ended up that IPS had to cancel school all together. (I have to also add that many of schools have decided to go with this two hour delay across the city, including the large Christian school in the city.) The bus union is all for this "two hour delay", of course they are!! My problem... first of all, where is the personal responsib...

Sniffles, Fever and an Attitude

Image
I started the day off by posting on facebook that I have the sniffles, Andrew has a fever and Sam has an attitude... what a way to start the week! Sam didn't have a bad attitude, but since Andrew was pretty clingy today, Sam was needing some attention too! I was rocking Andrew and put him in his crib, when I came out from his room, Sam was rocking his teddy bear to sleep and he rocked himself to sleep too (not really, he was just playing!) Andrew was definitely one hot baby today. He didn't act all that sick, just clingy and sleepy but not overly grumpy, which was nice. Sam kept saying today "Annew sick?" And I would say "yes" and then he would reply "It make me sad." So sweet!! Look at those rosey cheeks and sleepy eyes!! I made all of Sam's baby food and can count on one hand the number of times we fed him food from the jar. Well, Baby #2 and I got real and have been feeding him food from the jar. He has had all of stage 1 food, so I will pro...
