Sniffles, Fever and an Attitude

I started the day off by posting on facebook that I have the sniffles, Andrew has a fever and Sam has an attitude... what a way to start the week! Sam didn't have a bad attitude, but since Andrew was pretty clingy today, Sam was needing some attention too!
I was rocking Andrew and put him in his crib, when I came out from his room, Sam was rocking his teddy bear to sleep and he rocked himself to sleep too (not really, he was just playing!)
Andrew was definitely one hot baby today. He didn't act all that sick, just clingy and sleepy but not overly grumpy, which was nice. Sam kept saying today "Annew sick?" And I would say "yes" and then he would reply "It make me sad." So sweet!!

I made all of Sam's baby food and can count on one hand the number of times we fed him food from the jar. Well, Baby #2 and I got real and have been feeding him food from the jar. He has had all of stage 1 food, so I will probably start making some of his food based on what we are having. Anyway, I bought a book of baby food recipes for Sam and decided to make Andrew a treat today from the cookbook. So, I cut up some cantaloupe and de-seeded it.

Then I put it in my grinder.

And made Andrew some baby food. I put it in the freezer so it would be really cold and he enjoyed a frosty treat for dinner!

First bite... COLD!!

But, we have a happy customer!!

Sweet that Sam worries about Andrew when he's sick...Michael is the same way! Andrew sure did look 'hot'. Hope he gets some rest and works that out of himself...yummy cold treat!

That picture of Sam is adorable! That picture of Andrew with those rosy cheeks is sad because I know he's sick, but cute because he is just SO cute. And last, have you ever tasted frozen pureed (spelling?) cantaloupe?

Today was the first day of cross country season for the Junior High team.  The thing about XC is that the work is put in during the summer months with early morning runs, afternoon runs, track workouts, and hill repeats.  All that work starts to become evident during these days when the races start. Jacob woke up feeling excited to get the season started.  Abigail work up at 5:48am to fix her hair and get ready for the bus.  Abram was pretty nervous as he woke up. 5th grade girls The kids ran their hearts out and did so well for the first meet. Jacob placed 2nd for his team and 3rd overall to help the boys varsity team clutch 1st place for Varsity Boys team.  Abigail looked strong and had an overall 4th place finish for the JV girls and placed 2nd for her team. Abram looked blocked it at the beginning but certainly made up for it with a strong ending to finish 1st place in the JV boys race. Let's go Tigers!

Uncle Nathan, Aunt Heather and Caleb Visit

On Saturday, Nathan, Heather and Caleb came for a visit.  We had an absolutely beautiful day, and we wanted to spend the day outside.  Some people had recommended Maymont Park.  Maymont is a park that is hundreds of acres with a stone castle and barn, some animals, and lots of space for the boys to run around. Andrew wanted to get his boots wet and Aunt Heather supervised.  I am glad we crated more boots! The walk with beautiful and we enjoyed visiting along the way. There was lots of rock climbing... and lots of goats! Jacob and Caleb did a great job riding around in the strollers, but needed some time to stretch too! I love this picture of Nathan and Caleb.  He is such a great daddy and I love to see him with Caleb. Sam enjoyed a cigar at the park too.  (I joke!) The little babies ate some grass. Summer flew by, as it always does, and we are looking forward to a great school year! I forgot a group shot because Sam had Senior Sunrise Breakfast on the first day and was up and going to school at 6:30am!
