Pictures from the Weekend

Image
Some pictures from our relaxing weekend. The two older brothers play so nicely together most of the time.  On Saturday morning they were pretending to be fighting forest fires downstairs. I don't ask them to pose like this, they just do it! Jacob was getting into everything this weekend including a basket:) On Saturday night, Hap and I had the opportunity to go out to eat in celebration of our wedding anniversary without the kids.  It was a beautiful night so we ate outside by the main attraction in our town.  I enjoyed mint lemonade, it is so delicious! We shared hummus and pita as the appetizer and then feasted on a mixed grill platter with a variety of salads. Afterwards we walked up into the main market... note to self, heels and cobblestone walkways don't mix well! The architecture of the old city is awesome. We walked to a new street and a man said to us in broken English that the street is "steepy and the hill is big...

Jacob: 11 Months

Image
Jacob, Big guy, what happened?  You turned 11 months today.  You are so sweet natured and bring such joy to our family.  You are still army crawling (quickly!!) around the house but pull up on anything you can possibly find and cruise around furniture.  You enjoy walking behind your push toy and it won't be long before you take off running, but for now, we enjoy you crawling around!!  You have started to climb on things... into baskets, the bottom shelf of the book shelf, chairs, and riding toys. You are wearing a size 4 diaper.  You wear size 9-12 month clothes.  The outfit you are wearing today is 12 months.  I don't know exactly how much you weigh, I think about 20 lbs.  You enjoy eating all foods, but this week you have enjoyed cauliflower and green beans.  You only have your two lower teeth but will enjoy eating more once some more teeth come in.   You have started drinking some juice but you can't quite get the hang...

Dress Up!

Image
The boys have GREAT imaginations.  One of our favorite things is to hear the boys playing together using their imaginations.  On any given day the boys could be worker men, feeding their cows, firefighters, a superhero, basketball players, our vehicle is a work truck or a space ship, you name it they imagine it!  They just received some boxes of goodies that included dress up outfits for them. Meet Davy Crockett and Georgy Russell. And to go right along with their fireman fascination, new firefighter hats. "Imagination is more important than knowledge." Albert Einstein

Full Days

These days are full of fun times with the boys and studying hard!!  I have some pictures from our last week, all very random but all I want to keep!

5th Birthday Celebration

Image
I am just now getting all of Sam's birthday celebration pictures put on the blog, it has been a busy week of study!! Here is the birthday boy before going to school!  5 years old... he wanted to fix his hair and it was looking cool:) After school, we celebrated with a Shwarma and cake.  Sam requested chocolate cake. The candles here are crazy.  They shoot sparks and seemingly it is dangerous... Sam was all about the candle.  He wanted to run his finger through the fire! We received many care packages and cards in the mail for Sam, thanks so much!  Hap and Sam read the cards before opening presents. Sam is really into firetrucks and firemen right now.  He received a lego firetruck kit that he was super excited about. We had brought these toys from the States and they both received a fireman.  Andrew received one too because he didn't understand why he wasn't getting presents too! Then we loaded the car up with ...
