Wednesday

Image
We are all moved in our new "home" and getting adjusted to this side of town.  (More to come about our new house!)  My mom has been here since Sunday and has been a great help in getting us situated.  The boys enjoyed a trip to the Children's Museum with her today while Jacob and I rested at home.  She left tonight and it is always sad to see her leave.  The little sweetheart spends most of his time sleeping or eating!  He is nursing about every 2.5 hours during the day and getting up twice a night.  Not bad and I don't mind, this time will pass too quickly!  He is so precious and I love cuddling with him in the middle of the night when the house in dark and quiet. We had planned on closing on the other house this afternoon, but it was postponed due to some issues on the buyer's side.  We were disappointed but praying that things will move quickly and we can close towards the end of next week! Thanks for reading, Happy Wednesday! "In ...

The First Goodbye

Image
We will be saying many goodbyes over the next few months as we prepare to head overseas.  Today, we experienced our first goodbye as we moved out of our house.  Packing up and moving out was difficult but we are thankful for the provisions God has provided for us. Jacob spent most of the day sleeping!  He is such a good, good baby.  He is one week old today:)  He also spent time getting lovin' from his brothers.  We have sold most of our furniture.  The couch was the one thing that Sam struggled to see leave in the truck.  He wanted to lay on the couch one more time and didn't want to "sold it."  Andrew watched Norma mow one last time.  We have made some great friends while living in our house.  Norma is such an amazing neighbor and we will miss her terribly.  Al and Mary have been wonderful neighbors on our other side and we will miss how kind they are to the boys. I will miss the house on Pike Creek Blvd!  But I wi...

Sam's First Soccer Game!

Image
Sam had his first soccer game today.  There are 12 four year olds on two different teams.  The first half-hour is practice and doing "drills".  The second half-hour is playing a game.  Sam enjoyed the first part after checking everything out, but the second half he mainly guarded the cones:) Sam is the one in green... I apparently didn't read the email well that said to wear the blue uniform the first week!  It makes it easy to see him though! Kicking practice. Jacob and Andrew cheered Sam on during the game. Grandma Jolliff saw the game today too.  She headed back to Illinois this morning and we appreciate her help.  Carl came over yesterday and brought a few things back to Illinois from our house.  We move on Monday! This and That

Just some pictures from last night and today. Last night before bed, I had all three of my sweet boys in bed with me for storytime.  I fed Jacob and read to the other two.  Sweet precious memories!  (Yes, I look horrible in this picture but what do ya do?!!)  And this morning, Hap spent some sweet time with the guys.  Jacob was laying on the boppy this afternoon and I was having a mini-photo shoot with him.  His poor head is getting better but there is definately still a bruise from delivery.  My most favorite thing about having a newborn is having him cuddled on my chest and kissing his sweet little head.  I could do that all day long!!  Jacob had his first doctor appointment today with Dr. Timmons.  He checked out perfectly.  Jacob is nursing about every 2 hours and nursing seems to be going well.  He likes to sleep and be held!!  His stats at 5 days: Weight- 6lb 15 oz Height- 19.5 inches (his head must has been...

We're Home!

Image
We came home from the hospital yesterday afternoon and I am sooooo glad to be home!!  Hap tucked Jacob safely in the car seat and we were on our way!!  The welcome home committee was in full force welcoming our newest member home:)  Sam and I walked next door and introduced Norma to Jacob.  We know Norma will love Jacob and Jacob will love Norma in the short time we are left in the house!  Jacob's first night at home was a success... in baby terms of course.  He woke up about every 2-3 hours to eat and then went back to sleep pretty well.  Good morning!!  Today is Jacob's due date:) It's good to be home with my boys!

Jacob's First 48

Image
Jacob has had a busy first 48 hours.  We have been visited by many friends.  Grandma Betty was in the delivery room this time and welcomed Jacob into the world.  We are so glad she was in with us.  Our wonderful Labor and Delivery nurse, Bertha.  She has had 41 years experience.  Grandpa Mark meeting Jacob!  Papa Carl and Grandma Jessica meeting their 5th grandson.  Gigi came over with Carl to meet Jacob as well on his birthday.  Rob and Becky stopped by.  We joked Rob about having shoes small enough for him and he thought he might be able to handle it:)  Kathy and Mary  I love Northside's staff, part of whom stopped by yesterday.  We had a sweet time of prayer for Jacob and I am so thankful for them all!  Ben and Amanda getting some practice before their adopt their sweet child;)  Jacob will love Ben and Mandy like the other two boys already do!  Hap jokingly put that our primary language is Arabic....
