The Tabernacle and Red-Dead Sea
These are in reverse order but on the way back from Eilat, we stopped to dip our feet into the Dead Sea. It's really sad to see how much the Dead Sea is shrinking each year and while we wish we could have floated, we were glad for the chance to wade and be in the Dead Sea. Before we left the Eilat area, we stopped by Timna Park in the Negev Desert. The main reason we stopped was to see the Tabernacle replica. While we were there, we saw some Ibex eating nearby. I didn't think I would be too interested in the Tabernacle but it was fascinating and I really enjoyed it. The guide showed us how much work it would have been for the Israelites to move the tabernacle through the desert and how everything they did, ultimately, points us to the Messiah who came as the once for all sacrifice. It was very moving. We skipped some rocks, put our toes in, and got a picture by the Red Sea! We had the BEST couple days in Eilat!
