Cook Out

Image
Yesterday we spent much of the day playing and working outside.  Hap fixed up the fire pit and we grilled out hotdogs. Early in the day, I found some root beer at the store and bought this little treat for the kids and Hap.  Everyone was pretty pumped, despite Sam's serious face. The babies love being outside, especially with their brothers. Long legged Andrew drinking his root beer.  We also let the kitten out yesterday and she was hanging out with Andrew on the rocks. Sam found a praying mantis and snapped this picture of it.  Pretty good picture!!

Sunday Phone Pictures

I know you are have been anxiously awaiting all week long to see what I've snapped on my phone, so here goes ;) Or what Sam has snapped on my phone. This girl likes bling! From our trip to the park. Sam took a cool shot from his view from the top of the climber thing. When we arrived home from the park, I realised that the worker men had concreted right outside the gate!  This would be great news if they left a way for me to get myself and my five kids in the gate without getting our feet in the concrete.  To make this an even better situation, it was like the neighbour kids were waiting for us to get home and they hung around to watch me open the gate, get boards out, and get the kids in.  To say I wasn't happy would be an understatement. We did a science project from Sam's science book this week.  Still isn't finished, so the results coming soon to the blog. These two love to go to the store with me.  Maybe because they walk a...

Today we attended the 5th annual costume party at our friends' house.  The boys have been talking about this for weeks and last weekend while Hap was away we finalised their costumes.  Basically, we should have a sponsorship from felt fabric and velcro. This year we had a puppy, an IU cheerleader, a panda, a ninja, and a British soldier. Andrew the Ninja Sam the British Soldier Jacob the Panda Abbey the IU Cheerleader Abram the Puppy The fabulous five!! All the kids at the party.  So much fun!! And so much sugar :) The kids had a fantastic time today.  I love how they put on their costumes and their imaginations take them to a world outside of our everyday!!

Afternoon in the Park

Image
On Sunday when I went on my run, I discovered a new park that I immediately knew I needed to bring the kids to play on it.  There are a few areas of play equipment which makes it perfect for all ages.  There is also a skate and bike park.  Yesterday afternoon, I surprised the kids when I picked them up for school with a picnic packed and their scooters.  They were very excited to see the new park and we spent the afternoon until dark. Yesterday morning when I was sorting through winter clothes sweet Abigail discovered a necklace and wanted to wear it the rest of the day! Andrew spun the twins on the round about.  They love it!  I can hardly watch them go around without feeling dizzy. The boys had a blast with their scooters. Jacob is getting the hang of his scooter. Sam is almost touching the clouds. I am so glad that we put homework to...
