Change of Plans and Costumes:)

Image
So, we had a change of plans tonight. I was called off work and was able to spend the evening at home. Since Sam's cowboy costume was in the wash, he decided to dress up in his fireman coat and go trick or treating to some neighbors. Here is the fireman himself... We only went to a couple houses, basically the people in know in the neighborhood. And when we arrived home and had our bath Sam handed out candy to the people who came to our door. He was pretty generous with the candy and I think everyone was appreciative:)

Zoo Boo

Image
Yesterday we had a full day! In the morning, we did somethings around home and then met Hap's Aunt Sally for lunch. She was in town for shopping and we grabbed lunch together. We had a nice time but I am disappointed I forgot my camera at home. We were so thrilled to catch up with her and hope she comes back shopping soon (or just comes back over!) Last night we attended Zoo Boo! It was a perfectly chilly fall night and the animals were crazy (and I'm not just talking about the kids!!) The cheetahs and lions were roaming around, the two rhinos were fighting and the elephants were taking a bath, it was fun. The boys and I met up with Laura Cave, her son John and her mom. The boys really weren't into having their pictures taken last night. Andrew wanted down to dance to the Monster Mash that was blaring and Sam wanted to roll in the hay of the hay maze:) And Andrew definitely wasn't feeling the hat haha! Still cute cowboys in my eyes:) Sam and John had fun toge...

Trunk or Treat 2010

Image
Tonight, we went to Trunk or Treat at Sam's school! I took a couple pictures, but will take more tomorrow when we go to the Zoo Boo! Meet Cowboy Sam, notice his work glove in his back pocket:) Casey and Maena came over for Trunk or Treat. Sam has been so excited all day about Maena coming over. He wanted to hold his hand and have him spend the night!! Maena was the cutest construction worker I saw tonight!!! (I joked that they could be part of the Village People haha) And little cowboy Andrew. I'll get some better pictures of his outfit tomorrow night, he wasn't in the mood today! The kids received lots of candy and had a really fun time. Happy Trunk or Treat:)

Mama Knows

Just wanted to give my blog readers a quick update on Sam's leg. He was supposed to have a Dr's appointment tomorrow but after he was in pain this morning, I changed it to today. We saw the Dr and he ordered another x-ray. His tibia is broken about half way down in left leg. Bone has already started to grow back, which is a good thing. The amount of bone he regenerated in three weeks would take an adult 8-12 weeks. So, the Dr didn't cast it but wants him to faithfully wear the boot cast for two more weeks. I am so thankful that we know for sure and it can be healed. I prayed this verse for a friend this week and thought it applied here too! God is so good to comfort us with His Word. Get in the Bible today, friend! "Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven. Let them...

Little Hands

Image
I heard a story once about a woman who had two kids. She was always cleaning finger prints off the windows, oven and refrigerator door. It wasn't that she was annoyed with the finger prints, she just wanted to have a clean front door. This lady lost both of her children in a car accident and she never again had little finger prints around her house and she missed them! I heard this story again on the radio last week and it did remind me of myself. I will admit that I do clean those sweet little hand prints off the front door pretty often! However, I noticed over the weekend a sweet little dirt hand print by our front door on the wall and just can't manage to clean it off the wall. I daily realize just how quickly those little hands are growing. How everyday those little hands are learning new skills and sometimes getting into trouble. I see that those little hands are helping hands and loving hands. I feel those little hands reach for mine when we get ready to walk across the ...

Pumpkin Patch 2010

Image
This morning we headed to Waterman's Pumpkin Patch. It is a sunny, cool fall day and just perfect for the pumpkin patch. I had organized a trip with a group of coworkers and their children two weeks ago, but Sam hurt his leg. He has been looking forward to the pumpkin patch since then! Today, they had the pony rides open and Sam was eager to ride one. He picked the white pony and really enjoyed himself. He wanted to know if it would buck him off, I assured him it wouldn't:) Andrew also wanted to ride. Andrew really likes animals of all kind and enjoyed his ride around the arena as well!! He threw a mini-fit when we had to leave the pony ride area!! The boys measured themselves again this year. I will post some pictures from our previous pumpkin patch visits for some comparison . They also offered the pumpkin dizzy ride. Sam rode it twice, I wanted to throw up just watching it:) I tried to get some pictures when the other kids loaded up and they were spinning around, b...

Sarah's Baby Shower

Image
Today I helped host a baby shower for Sarah Hall, she is due right around Christmas time. The shower turned out so cute and and the food was wonderful. I absolutely loved how all of the decorations turned out. It really looked darling. I think the puff balls turned out great. I had plenty of them, so we hung five above the food table and two above the gift table. I will definately be doing this for more showers. And check out all that food. The ladies went above and beyond preparing all that food. Everyone enjoyed the food, especially the zebra oreo balls and punch! Here is the mommy-to-be with one of her gifts. She is so radiant and was really sweet opening all those presents! Just a little excited about receiving their stroller and carseat combo from the hostesses. She then mentioned she wouldn't have to borrow ours as Hap had volunteered it to them:) All her goodies. I remember when I was pregnant one of my favorite things was going home with all the presents and putt...

The Brothers at Bedtime

Image
Just a few pictures from after bathtime and before bedtime tonight!! Andrew showing you his tongue... And Sam is playing the violin:) Good Night!

Today

Image
Lots to report in on today! First off, Sam's show and tell. Apparently it went really well. Hap dropped Sam off at school and said he placed the box right outside the door because "that is where it goes." During show and tell, they asked him if it was a game and he replied "no". Then they asked if it was a toy and he replied "yes" and then according to him tonight he told them what it was. I don't know if there is any more to the story, but the teachers said he did great today! I think the box will rotate throughout the year, so more show and tell to come I'm sure. Here is his art project from the day. He made a glittery spiderweb using cars. Let me tell you, it has alot of glue on it and is still wet tonight:) Then it was off to the Dr's appointment for his leg. I have to admit, Sam did not cooperate with the Dr in the least bit. He wouldn't walk for him, he wouldn't really look at him and he definitely wasn't going to tell him...

Show and Tell

Image
Yesterday I told you about Sam wanting to bring the show and tell box home from school. When I picked him up yesterday, he knew just the thing he wanted to put in the box, a car. Not just any car he told me, his Lightening McQueen car. We talked about other things, his long horn cow, his train or maybe a tractor but nope it is his Lightening McQueen. He is so excited and was excited to get all packed up for school today. Here he is placing McQueen in his box. He will have to explain to the class what is in the box and have them try to guess. Then he gets the opportunity to tell them about his object. It will be fun for him! Proud of his box and I can't wait to hear all about how he does at school with it. After packing his box up, he decided it was time for some music. He wanted me to sing and he would play the drums or the harmonica. He sang while playing the drums and his choice of song alternated between the ABC's and Victory in Jesus... he is diverse in his music ...
