Sam the Science Kid

Image
One of the boy's favorite things to watch on the computer is a particular episode of "Sid the Science Kid."  In this episode, Sid and his friends make a chart.  Last week, Sam was playing with his cars and was reading the brand of car on the bottom.  He decided to make a chart to see which type of car he has the most of.  He did the entire thing by himself and worked hard at it! The sorting process!  Checking the bottom of each car to see what the brand is and then putting the cars in piles. He checked each one closely, so that his chart was accurate. His "other" pile was the biggest. Here is his chart.  As you can see, when he writes his numbers and gets to double digits he has started flipping the numbers around.  He gets the language here and the English language confused at times!  He is sorting is out but it is interesting.

Beach Trip and Babysitting

Image
We are watching two little girls this weekend and we are having a good time!  Yesterday, we were brave and brought all five to the beach to enjoy.  While the water was still chilly to swim, the kids had fun running into the water and digging in the sand.  We had plenty of looks as it might appear we have two sets of twins and another one!! Hap dug a big hole and covered the kids up! The two little ones ended up getting sick in the middle of the night, so today we are doing TONS of laundry and hanging low while the big kids are off to school.  They are actually both napping now, so I better go take a shower!!

Sami and Andrew

Image
Sami is Andrew's best friend at school!  He talks about Sami all the time and about the things the do together at school.  We finally were able to visit him at his house yesterday and have a play date.  Sami and Andrew had a fun time together at his house and also played nicely with Jacob. Littlest brother wanted in the picture too but Sami and Andrew are so cute together!  We hope for more playdates in the future.

Somethin' Fun!

Image
On Monday, Jacob began to say that he wanted to do "somethin' fun"!  Since they are off school all week, we have been dividing our time up and yesterday morning I went to the park with the boys to enjoy.  The weather was really comfortable and they were practically the only kids at the park for a while.  We brought some construction equipment for the kids to play with. Merry-go-rounds make me nervous ever since grade school when we went to the Salem City Park and a girl in my class got caught underneath one and broke a bone.  I try not to have a nervous fit when the kids get on them! But then they sit like this... or stand up... or do this! I love to see the boys playing together.  It is so much fun! I forgot our soccer ball, so we kicked around an empty bottle! Jacob was so hilarious!  I told him to look at his shadow and he kept turning around because he couldn't find it! Then he foun...

Easter Pictures

We enjoyed a morning service at an empty tomb.  We particularly enjoyed worshiping in English!  I miss that.  The boys did great during the 1 hour service, though I thought Jacob was going to "water" the plants during the service, thankfully we made it to the bathroom before that happened:) Here is a better picture of the three boys! Easter 2014 After a short rest for the adults, we hosted some friends for an Easter dinner.  Everyone brought delicious food and we enjoyed hosting in our home. Afterwards, the kids had an egg hunt.  The grass has gotten tall after we had the yard plowed, which made egg finding a little more difficult.  But the kids enjoyed themselves. The kids played outside until dark and the adults visited until late.  It was fun to have the afternoon together and it was special to celebrate the Resurrection together!

Eggs

Andrew made a bunny mask during a party at school this week.  It was so cute! Then tonight we dyed eggs with the boys.  They had been waiting all day to do them and had a fun time tonight!
