Blogging.Break.

Image
Yes, it's true... I am going to take a small break from blogging this week, but will return on Friday with a plethora of pictures and stories I'm sure. Why? you may ask. Well, for starters I spend alot of time checking (stalking) other people's blog and seeing what is going on in their lives, some people I don't even know. It doesn't take me long to blog myself, but getting on makes me want to check out other blogs. Reason #2, I have two big items I need to finish this week and this will allow me the discipline to work on those items. So, I will resume my blogging activities on Friday, so check back then. And maybe there is something you need to accomplish this week and you won't have to check our blog first... just a thought:) So, for the next few days, enjoy these pictures of Sam from this weekend.

Snow.Snow.Snow.

Image
It snowed a wonderful 12.5 inches here in Indy over the last 24 hours. It took me about 40ish minutes to make it home from work last night, usually a 12 minute drive. Hap braved our driveway as well as our neighbors and loved it, that's right up his alley! If Sam wouldn't have a cast on his leg it would have been fun to get out in. But we hung around all day inside! Maybe we'll put some bags on it tomorrow and head outside. The snow is beautiful!!

Dancing.Boy.

Sam still has the moves:)

Sam.And.Uncle.Nathan.

Image
Sam enjoyed a few days with Uncle Nathan this week. And has proven to us that wearing a cast can't keep a boy from climbing:)

One.More.

Image
Just one more picture from today when trying to get him dressed for bed. He loves to run around in nothing but his diaper (and cast)!

Sam's.Red.Cast.

Image
Well, Sam had to get a cast today. The ortho doctor was able to get him in this morning and by 11am, he had his red cast on (for IU! or Elmo) and was on his way. He was such a brave boy with a little crying during the x-ray again but did really well while they put the cast on. He even watched them do it. He doesn't seem bothered by it at all and hopefully will have it off in just three weeks. He can still run, climb, and nap... all good things. However, he sometimes forgets to slow down on the tile floor and well, you know he falls! He looks so cute it in and Hap and I are glad he is coping well:) First few tentative steps on the cast. Sweet feet, cast and all!!

He.What?

Image
That's what Hap and I are saying about Sam. He fractured his leg. He what? He doesn't act like it hurts him except limping slightly. He hasn't cried, he hasn't held it, he has kept climbing like a monkey. The only think we noticed what a limp since last Wednesday. Last Wednesday he was climbing on a box and fell off of it. Hap didn't see how he fell but he was limping. He had a doctor's appointment that day and she said he probably pulled something. So, we didn't think anything of it. But it wasn't getting better and so today I brought him to see his Doctor and she ordered an x-ray. Well after ALOT of screaming during the x-ray, they apparently were able to capture what they needed. So, he has a distal fibular agulated fracture. In other words, its one of his bones in his lower leg. We are to make an appointment tomorrow with a pediatric ortho doctor and see what they will do. Dr. Timmons (Sam's doctor) thought they may cast it, but wasn't 100%. ...

High.Of.3.

Image
When it's only a high of 3 degrees, you stay inside!!! Happy Thursday:) Sam playing "Ring Around The Rosie" with his penguin friend. It's never too cold for a popsicle!

Snow.Day.

Image
Yesterday it snowed about 3inches, it was beautiful. I love the snow!!! We ventured outside for a short while in the morning to "play" in the snow. Sam wasn't sure what to think of it!! We had his 18month check up and Dr. Timmons was happy with his growth and progress. His two shots and playing in the snow must have worn him out because when we ate lunch he fell asleep in his highchair. It's a rough life:)

Sam + Yummy Spaghetti = Big Mess Happy Monday!

18.Months.

Image
Sam is 18 months today. Before I had a kid it annoyed me when people used months, but alas I use them myself now! Where has the last year and a half gone. A few fun things about Sam at 18months... Sleeps 11+ hours at night and naps once a day Has 10 teeth in a working on two more molars Loves to build with his blocks and then knock them over Says lots of words or some derivative of the word (more, all done, socks, cheese, snack, truck, movie, diaper, dog, bath, bus, snow, bye bye, mama, dada, nose, baby, etc etc) Can point to his body parts (hair, nose, belly, eyes)... prefers the nose! Likes to play hide and seek Good helper, will throw trash away, put his toys up, get shoes Loves to be outside and doesn't mind the cold weather Favorite foods include stringed cheese, bananas, macaroni and cheese, oatmeal, yogurt, spaghetti Still fusses in the nursery when being dropped off (someday it will stop?!) Loves his babysitter Susan and her family, Adam, Micah and Lucas (+BabyJ3!) Is inter...

Dusting.

Image
We have had a dusting of snow the last three mornings and Sam will look outside and say "know" to the falling snow. Today we headed to the grocery store and he brought me his boots to wear. So we had to get out in the snow to get his boots wet. He liked the crunch of the snow. Can't wait for a big snow!! (Don't worry I'm not a bad mom, I tried to put gloves on him but he's not a big fan!) His new thing is to say "cheese" when his picture is taken and give a fake smile!! So that explains the last picture:)

Hap's.Home.

Hap completed the last part of his trip last night and arrived home late last evening. His flight was delayed an hour in Chicago but he made it. Our wonderful neighbor came over and "watched" Sam. He was asleep and I hated to get him out, so she agreed to come over, which was such a help. The only bad part was his luggage didn't arrive with him, but we're hopeful it will show up this week. Thanks for your prayers. Hap will get on here and blog about his wonderful trip sometime soon!!

Monday.

Image
Nothing to exciting... just our Monday! Sam LOVES to climb!! (Scary) Good little helper with dishes.

Brief.Update.

Spoke VERY briefly with Hap today. Said he continues to have a good time. They made it to Jerusalem, where they will be staying the remainder of their time. The next few days are jammed packed with exciting sites, including the Mount of Olives, "Palm Sunday" walk, seeing the remains of Pilots palace. Today is the Sabbath in Israel, so everything was closed, but hopefully they will be able to walk around Jerusalem the next few evenings and explore the city a little. I have no new pictures, so sorry. Sam is sickly today so no fun pictures to post from him... hopefully he will be all better tomorrow morning:( I probably won't talk with Hap until Monday so I'll update you then! Have a good weekend!

Hap.In.Israel.Part.3.

Image
Hap called today and is having a fantastic time in Israel. He was in the Dead Sea area and they were heading to Jerusalem tonight. Did you know that you can float in the Dead Sea... I mean REALLY float! Check the picture out below (it's not Hap!!) He will stay the remainder of the time in Israel in Jerusalem. He said the Bible was "coming to life." How exciting!! (now I must admit I'm a little jealous). They have had to change their plans slightly, as one of the towns they were headed to was bombed, though I don't know the town's name. Anyway, that's the update. Thanks for checking and keep praying!
