Sam's.Red.Cast.

Well, Sam had to get a cast today. The ortho doctor was able to get him in this morning and by 11am, he had his red cast on (for IU! or Elmo) and was on his way. He was such a brave boy with a little crying during the x-ray again but did really well while they put the cast on. He even watched them do it. He doesn't seem bothered by it at all and hopefully will have it off in just three weeks. He can still run, climb, and nap... all good things. However, he sometimes forgets to slow down on the tile floor and well, you know he falls! He looks so cute it in and Hap and I are glad he is coping well:)

First few tentative steps on the cast.

Sweet feet, cast and all!!

Sam, We are so proud of you for being a big boy today. You look good in crimson(and cream). It doesn't look as if the cast will slow you down, so dad and mom keep your sneakers on. Have fun playing with your uncle Nathan. Love, Grandpa and grandma P.

Way to go Sam - don't let a little thing a cast slow you down. You are a very brave boy. We hope you are up and running (without the cast) soon.

Garrett did the same thing in Mexico when he was jumping on the bed and fell off!! He had a hairline fracture to his tibia and was casted for 4 weeks. By the end of week 1 he was running around like nothing was different!! Funny how they adapt to things. I will warn you the saw used to cut the cast off freaked him out!! Just a forewarning;)
