Pups

Image
The biggest news around here this week, according to the boys, is that our Hap's dog had puppies!  She had nine but two died leaving us with seven wiggly, cute puppies under our pirate ship out back.  The boys, of course, are in love and are sad about the thought of giving them all away.  They have already picked out names but not assigned them yet because they aren't allowed to touch them until at least their eyes open.  Here is the best picture I could get under the ship with them all cuddled together! And in other news, Andrew brought home a prize for having ten books read to him in Arabic that he has brought hone from school.  He was so excited!

Family Time

Image
Just some pictures of the family over the last few days.  Little Abram has found his thumb.  He doesn't suck it all the time but when it goes next to his mouth, he will suck on it!  He has been really fussy the last couple days, so his thumb is a welcome distraction :) I made some cinnamon sugar popcorn for the boys to enjoy one afternoon after school.  Tasted yummy. We made some rolls and I had three little helpers during one of the snow days. And Hap didn't have class on Saturday due to the weather, so he played some board games with the boys.  They boys are left to play by themselves often while we care for the two babies so this was a fun time for them all. Even though we are busy with life there is never a lack of love for each other.  I'm so thankful for this. I just wanted one picture, easier said than done :)  We have family pictures scheduled for the beginning of April and I'm excited to have some professional...

Twin Talk: 2 Months

Image
Babies, you are two months old today!! Baby Girl, What a fast month it has been and my how you are changing so much.  First off, you have grown to love laying on the play mat and stretching out.  This is new and we are glad you enjoy being put down a bit more.  You do still love to cuddle close after you nurse, which I love!  You are a good nurser and a good burper... we will need to work on your lady-like manners :)  You want to nurse every 2.5-3 hours around the clock.  You have started smiling more and have also started cooing, nothing predictable but you are doing it more and more.  You are so bright eyes and alert!  You are still wearing size newborn clothes and have started wearing size 1 diapers.  Today at the doctor you received two vaccinations, the Hepatitis B and the dTap.  Today we weighed 6.6 pounds and measure 20.5 inches long.  The doctor wants you to beef up a bit, so we'll work on that in the next month, but ov...

This and That

Image
Some pictures from the week! We are in the process of sorting through the house and clearing out what isn't used or needed.  I have been saying for some time now that the boys do not need another single toy because half of the time they don't even play with their toys but one or two and use their imagination the rest of the time. I think they have so many toys, they don't know what to play with!  On Sunday afternoon, the boys had managed to make a huge mess of toys in their room and everywhere else but then started bickering with each other and not even playing with the toys... real life folks!  Anyway, Hap had enough and went into their room and started organizing and clearing out.  He did a great first round!!  More getting rid of to come in the days ahead but I'm so thankful for his hard work in their room! The boys always want something different for a snack after school and so I found my apple corer and made them an apple, peanut butter, and granol...

Night Time

Image
The weather has turned chilly and rainy this week again.  Since we don't have central heat, we keep a radiator heater plugged in the twin's room to keep their room a steady temperature.  We have enjoyed the fire and think it has kept us warmer this year.  However, yesterday we never started the fire and the boys were cold going to bed.  While I nursed the babies, we listened to music and the boys fell asleep.  Hap moved them to their bed when he arrived home but first I snapped a picture if my entire heart sleeping in one room!! Abram and Abigail Good morning babies!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Image
Valentine's Day is such fun with kids.  The last two years I have made pink pancakes for breakfast.  Last night I set the breakfast table for the morning.  Fun! I had every intention of making pancakes but a couple "things" got in the way..... Mid morning, the twins and I went with Hap to his English class for a little party.  I brought the mini cupcakes and cinnamon sugar popcorn, along with drinks.  Valentine's Day is just catching on in our town but I do think it is rare and new in this village.  It was fun to meet his students and visit with them. This evening I made a (sad looking) heart pizza.  The boys were thrilled so that is all that matters but it would look like I shouldn't get into the heart shaped pizza business :) Three of my valentines!!! And baby girl valentine. And our sweet baby boy valentine! xoxo My heart could just bust with love for the five little valentines in my life and my big valent...

Olympics

Image
Sometimes I think getting the twins to sleep at the same time during the day should become an Olympic sport.  I may or may not qualify, depending on the day.  However, today, I get the gold medal :)

V is for Valentine's

Image
Andrew wanted to hold Abigail after school and have her watch "Paw Patrol" with him.  Precious big brother with his little sister! A few days this week, we have been working on the letter V for Valentine's Day with Jacob during mommy school.  I don't do it everyday but on this particular day he worked on his numbers using conversation hearts!  Then they enjoyed eating some :) Andrew sat by Jacob and did his own mommy school work.

Another week

Image
Hard to believe it has been over a week since I blogged. I have good intentions but my days get filled up quickly... with all good things! We spend our days laying under the play mat looking around. Exercising together to a video on my computer. We spend lots of time cuddling together! As well as the twins cuddling together.  They are almost too big to both fit comfortably in the bouncy seat! They enjoyed hanging out in the sun over the weekend.  We all have enjoyed the gorgeous weather but the winds are changing, literally, and it is cooling down! The boys all got hair cuts by the same man who helped do the circumcisions!  Don't worry, only the hair was cut. We have gone a few places and the babies do well in their carseats. The babies are really waking up during the day and I enjoy talking with them. Sam loves to hold the babies before they go to sleep at night. One of the babies favorite places to lay is on the cha...
