Water Babies

Image
I know it is only May, but it is warm around these parts. Yesterday, we filled our pool up and played in the water. Sam had a blast and was cracking himself up! He poured water on our neighbor's feet, in his hair and anywhere else he could. It's going to be a fun, wet summer:) Happy Hot Tuesday

The White Onesie!

Image
Oh how I LOVE the white onesie. Babies looks so cute it in, especially their diaper bootie:) I get kinda sad when my boys grow out of their white onesies. Means they are growing up, and this little guy well, he's almost grown out of his biggest white onesie! Enjoy Andrew in his onesie, one last time!!

Sam's Time at the Farm

Image
On Thursday, Sam loaded up with Hap and headed to the farm for a visit. He is all things boy, so the farm is such fun!! We heard he helped feed the cows with his own bucket, ride the mule, help Papa fix some tractors, and play with his cousins. We know he had a great time and we are glad he was able to spend the time with his grandma and papa. Here are some pictures from Jessica that she took over the last few days. Jennifer has some on her blog as well from Friday night at their house! Starting the morning off early with feeding the cows! One of Sam's favorite farm activities. What a great helper with his own bucket!! Apparently Aunt Mindy got in on the action:) Yesterday, Hap, Andrew and I left in the morning to go back to pick Sam up. We were able to watch Hunter and Beau play their last game of soccer. They did great and it was fun to be able to enjoy that with them. We also had a quick visit with Aunt Dru and Melissa as they are in town for a few days. Andrew had never ...

Dear Sam

Image
Dear Brother Sam, I sure miss you!! I hope you are having fun on the farm with our grandparents and cousins. I am having fun here with mommy and daddy. Mommy spent lots of time today reading to me. I even was able to get in on the action and read all about Lightening McQueen. I will be ready to watch the movie "Cars" with you when you get back! I have also been able to play with many toys. Mommy hasn't taken one toy away from me nor has she said "No No Andrew" like you tell me! I am fascinated with Elmo. I also like all the toys in your room. Don't worry though, mommy said she would put them up where they belong so you won't know a thing when you get back tomorrow! I have missed you at bath time. I have missed splashing with you in the water. I have missed seeing your smiling face at the breakfast table in the morning. Mommy and daddy aren't nearly as loud in the morning as you are! I have enjoyed a quiet afternoon nap today in mommy...

More Weekend Pictures

Image
After everyone left on Saturday, Sam and Andrew had a great time playing with the neighbor girls! Sam really became Grandpa's boy this weekend! My mom reminded me that in a few short months, Andrew will want outside with grandpa too!! While I was putting Andrew down on Saturday night, my dad was reading to Sam and asleep he went!! On Sunday, my dad and Sam had a big day. They saw trains, some loud motorcycles that made Sam's ears "riggerly" (wiggly), and had ice cream. They had a wonderful time together in dad "big red truck." Sam also drove Andrew around, sadly this will be reality before I even realize it:) I also had the chance to go visit Danette and her sweet baby. She was doing great and Quinn is a wonderful daytime sleeper!! We had a great weekend in Salem. Sam is at Hap's parents for a few days and we will pick him up tomorrow in Patoka. I was able to get lots of work done yesterday, in short I got rid of lots of stuff! Andrew is enjoy...

Four Halo Heads:)

Image
After the run on Saturday, Andrew, Sam and I loaded up the car and headed to Salem for the weekend. Jennifer had flown into St. Louis for Mother's Day and we didn't want to miss the opportunity to see her and the kids. Uncle Ron, Aunt Nancy, Jennifer, Michael and Catherine where awaiting our arrival when we came to Salem. Catherine was so gentle with Andrew! Michael and Sam are so cute together. They could be twins! They had a wonderful time with their grandpa's going to see the Choo Choo trains. They watched the trains, walked around on the tracks, and apparently got up close and personal with them. They had a blast and couldn't stop talking about them when we arrived back at the house. They too played nicely together. I remember being such great friends with Jennifer growing up and it is fun to see our boys playing together. It brings back plenty of memories, but thankfully our boys don't dress up and perform yet:) Here are the four halo heads! We missed the re...

Run With a Mission 5K

Image
I know, I've been bad with the blogging, so here is my attempt to catch up:) Last Saturday morning, the Southeast Asia Team hosted a 5K run for missions at the church. All the proceeds will go towards our trip this summer. It was fun and many people turned out for it. Here Amanda (the winner of her division), Susan (2nd place in her division), and me (the loser!I pushed Andrew!) on our triple date:) Sam helped out in the clean up effort! I don't know whose idea the cone on the head was, and we'll leave it at that! And finally, a family picture. We never get family pictures because I am always taking them:) So here we are, ready to head out this summer and we can hardly wait!!

Nothing Big...

Nothing big in this post, just a few things I want to remember: 1. Andrew is pacifier free!! It started Sunday night when we couldn't find a pacifier before I put him to bed. Unusual because I usually have six or seven around, but we couldn't find any. So, thus it began to wean him from the pacifier. He has been fine without it except yesterday at the gym. When I picked him up the worker said he "acted mad". Ha... he is mad at me for taking his pacifier. Oh well, better now than before kindergarten:) 2. Sam and I went swimming today and had such a blast. I have been telling him I would take him and finally did today. He loved jumping in. He would climb out and then wave with his little hand to me saying "move back little more." Then 1, 2, 3 jump. It was special to have the one on one time with him. 3. Sam and Andrew had such a fun time playing with each other this afternoon. I have always heard that the neat thing about having two kids was watc...

Gas City

Image
You don't know where I'm going with this blog title and post do you? It's not what you think, it's is where Heidi and I met with the kids today to play in the park. We enjoyed a picnic and beautiful weather. This was the first time the boys really played together. The biggest hit at the park was the merry-go-round, with lots of screaming involved:) Andrew enjoyed being outside so much today and was happy happy happy to sit and watch the big kids run around!! He did enjoy swinging for some time and a time or two down the slide. Fun day in Gas City!!

Mother's Day 2010

Image
Happy Mother's Day to all the mother's who read this blog. It has been a wonderful day and I feel so blessed, everyday, to be the mother of two sweet boys. I never knew just how special being a mommy would be and I still don't grasp how you can love a little person so much, I guess it's just a mother's love! And speaking of a mother's love, this mother loves the gift that Sam made for me in preschool. On Thursday when I picked him up, he ran up to me, grabbed my hand and led me into his classroom where he proudly gave me the gift. I cried:) My day started off with breakfast made by Sam and Hap. We went to church and took a family nap!! Then my parents came over for a few hours and Hap cooked lunch for us, while mom and dad played with the boys. Most of the day was spent outside digging up worms, playing baseball and running Ned around!! It was perfect:) Thanks to all the mother's in my life who serve as examples to me, I love you all!! Happy Mother...

Mini-Marathon

Image
We did it!! Hap and I completed our first Indianapolis 500 Mini-Marathon, which is the kickoff for Indianapolis for the month of May. We stayed together and it was really fun. It was chilly this morning with the temp being 47degrees at start time with some cold winds, but once we started running it wasn't a problem. The course allows you to run 2miles around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, which neither of us had been on before! With 35,000 runners/walkers it was a great atmosphere. We didn't really have a time goal. We wanted to strive for under 12minute miles and run the whole thing, which we did. We finished in 2hr 27min. Don't mind how we look and we both received a medal (all the participants did) but I just couldn't locate the other one! Happy 13.1mile Saturday from us!!

Mowing Men

Image
The men in my life sure do like to mow:) The neighbor's air conditioning man asked her if she had "seen your neighbor mowing" and she replied "yes, he does it all the time like that!" haha... just another day in our yard!

Just Because...

Image
I'm nice I put Andrew in this outfit for the Illinois fan's in our life. Of course he looks cute in it, but he looks cute in everything we put him in. It was for Sam, but he never wore it but Andrew fit into it just fine. Take a good look because you might never see him in orange and blue again:)
