Mmm.Mmm.Good.

Image
Though Sam may have just gotten his first tooth, it definately doesn't stop him from eatting! In fact, he loves to eat just about anything that we give him. I don't mush anything up anymore, he takes it all whole and loves it that way. I am grossed out by the smell of the baby food meat (nothing against it, I just can't do the smell) and I can't get myself to grind it in the baby food grinder I have. So we have recently introduced Sam to meat ravioli... which as you can tell his loves! I haven't ventured to let him pick it up by himself yet but he eats it anyway!

Teething.Trouble.

Image
Poor Baby Sam! He is in the rut of teething pains. We feel so bad because there isn't much we can do. His first tooth just popped through the gum (which is fine by me since I'm still nursing)! More are surely right behind because he can't keep his hands out of his mouth and he has been waking up again at night and is soothed by some teething medicine. He is mostly a happy guy but as you can tell in this picture, the teething gets the best of him at times!!

Play.Time.

Image
Sam is definately getting to be a big boy and enjoys playing with his toys... and our cells phones, remote controls, etc! Hap and I have such a great time playing and getting all the toys out. Right now, he really likes his musical table, his concrete truck, and the pieces of the Hungry Hippo toy. He also enjoys closing and opening books but not particularly being read too. What a sweet boy.

Laura's.Shower.

Image
On Saturday, Courtney and I hosted a shower for Laura who is expected Baby Boy Cave anyday now!! The decorations were darling, Laura received some great gifts and I think Laura had a fun time. Sam is definately looking forward to meeting Baby John in the near future!! You're going to be a great mom Laura:)

Week.In.Review.

Image
Well, I have not been very good this past week at posting blog stuff. It seems like between work and other obligations, the week has just flown by. This past week we were able to get together with Jennifer and Baby Kallie and had a wonderful time of togetherness with some other moms from church at Emily's house on Thursday. Work was busy, which is a blessing, and Sam did well at the babysitters. Hap completed a huge paper, which is another blessing!! We are grateful to God for each week we have. I promise to be better this week. I have some video of Sam to post, so check back later this week for updated pics and videos!!

Resurrection.Sunday.

Image
On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb. They went in but did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men stood by them in dazzling clothes. So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground. 'Why are you looking for the living among the dead?' asked the men. 'He is not here, but He has been resurrected.' HAPPY EASTER!

Easter.Day.

Image
We had a wonderful Easter today. We had a great church service at Northside, a fabulous meal with some good friends, and a fun filled evening playing with Sam. Sam's Easter basket included a blow up pool for this summer, some pool toys, and mum-mums (since he can't do candy). He was quite fascinated by the plastic eggs and didn't like the taste of the grass in his mouth:) What a sweet boy and a sweet day we had today. Real men wear hats...

Somebunny.Loves.You.

Image
Today I was at our WalMart and found out that the Easter Bunny was there getting pictures taken for FREE!! whoo hoo. So, I decided to see if Sam would sit on his lap. I was a little afraid considering the Easter Bunny was a little shady and Sam has been a little fearful of new people. But, he loved the Easter Bunny!! He played with his bow tie and then smiled for a picture. I didn't have my camera on me (I know, bad mommy) so this is a picture of the free picture we received!! Also, Sam is quite adventurous. Today he climbed up into his vibrating chair and stood up holding onto the crib rails. He doesn't seem afraid to try anything and is a pretty determined little boy. This Hungry Hippo he is riding on was a present from his Uncle Jay and Aunt Jennifer. He used to like to just play with the toys that go inside of it, but as you can tell, he now likes to ride on it (with us pushing it) and crawl all over it!

New.Toy.

Image
Sam received a new toy from mommy and daddy for his "eighth month birthday" He enjoys pulling up on everything, so we thought he would like this table. While he does love to pull up on it, he still hasn't quite got the hang of holding on the entire time he is standing.

Another.Month.

Image
Sam is another month older and it's so hard to believe. I think I say that every month, but it truly is amazing to see how fast the time goes and how precious each moment is with him. Hap and I are just loving seeing him discover the world around him more and more eachday! He is a professional army crawler and liking to pull up on the things that he can. He still hasn't quite figured it out that if he lets go, he too will go. But after enough rough landings I'm sure he'll be a quick learner. He is enjoying all types of foods and enjoys the ones he can feed himself the most. He likes bananas, mashed or sweet potatos, loves greenbeans and peas. He continues to LOVE his cereal and pretty well whatever goes into his mouth, he eats!! These pictures were taken today, a day before his "eight month birthday" Today was a good day to be outside and so we decided to go to the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Laughing.All.The.Way.

Sam has started this new thing that if we laugh at him, he will laugh back. Or if you fake cough, he will cough back. Pretty cute we think. So, here he is laughing and his mommy's fake laugh. Thankfully for you, I cut my creepy fake laugh out:) His laugh is sweet though!! Sorry it's so dark, I don't know what happened here?!

Cherrio.Man

Image
Just an update on Sam. We went to the DR today and she said his ears look like they have never had an ear infection! And he has gained 8oz in just one week. What an answer to prayer!! Sam's appetite is back in full force and I tried giving him some Cherrio's on Sunday (after some proding from some ladies at church) and he loves them. Can't get enough. He sometimes misses his mouth as you can tell from the picture but none the less we are thankful he is doing better and eatting well again!!
