Sam is all boy! He loves being outside and crawling around. Sometimes he cries just to go outside and once you are out there, he is perfectly fine. He likes to point outside and stand by the window and look out. It is going to be a great summer outside. We are glad the weather is much better to enjoy more time outside. He is getting to be a big big boy.

This past weekend we were able to meet up with my cousin Kurt, his wife Michelle and their kids to watch Maddie play in a soccer tournament. Maddie is fierce and her team is really good. Unfortunately we didn't get to visit long but we are glad we were able to see them for the short time. Sam had not met them yet, so it would good to introduce him to more of his family. Corey was great with Sam and we wished they lived in Indy because he would make a great sitter! Corey is a pro at feeding Cheerios:) Maddie... the soccer star!

21st.Century.Computer.

Well, sorry for the lack of posts. Hap and I entered into 2008 and have a new computer and printer. We are like kids on Christmas morning with them and we have spent many hours looking through the programs and in amazement to the speed in which computers now work. My computer was bought in 2000 and had recently been telling us that the memory was low, so we upgraded. Having said that, I am still figuring out the picture funtions and will have some pictures on shortly. Today Hap was able to spend the day in Patoka with family for Memorial Day. His dad spoke at a Memorial Day celebration and they spent the afternoon on the farm. Sam wasn't very excited about being alone without daddy but we know he had a good time none the less! I (Elizabeth) survived my first night with out my sweet boys since I worked today, but don't think I am ready for much more than that!!:) Hope your Memorial Day was wonderful and check back later in the week for some pictures!

Welcome.Back.Heather.

This is for you Heather. Welcome back to the states:) Can't wait to see you in July for Sam's birthday!!! Sam loves to do this! On another exciting note, Sam took four big step yesterday. He was standing in between Hap's legs and then he "walked" four step to me and fell. WOW!! He likes to bounce up and down and put his foot up like he is going to walk but yesterday he took the steps. Today he has done it a few times. I tried to get video footage of it, but when I got the camera out his legs went to Jello and he just wanted to play with the camera. Maybe another day!

Playtime.Update.

While I was at work on Saturday, Hap fixed up Sam's play area. We had been talking about it and he had been doing the pre-work, like trimming the trees back and spraying bug spray. He put the mulch down on Saturday and it looks awesome. Thank you again Claggett's for the play set! Also my mom planted some Iris bulbs and some wild flowers in our flower bed for us. I will have more pictures of the flowers once they bloom.

This is Micah-Man and Sam-Boy playing this past week at our dear sitter's house! I know they have a good time together and will grow up to be good friends. And I pray for Susan once they both start walking:)

Friends.

These other kiddos are work friend's babies. It was much more difficult this time to get them to look up for the camera and STAY STILL!! We decided next time we need to get the picture at the beginning:)

I think that the last few days I must have been slightly sad that my sweet little baby is turning into a walking toddler. Although he isn't walking alone, the days are numbered for crawling I have a feeling. I decided to look back through all of the pictures that we had taken of Sam (yes, this took a while). It is so amazing to see that is 10 short months he has changed so much. Something that apparently hasn't changed is my love for him in hats. I love hats and love putting him in hats. Real mean wear hats:) Here are my favorites of, for now, my sweet little baby!!

On.A.Walk.

Sam loves to walk behind his hungry hippo (see previous post and video)! He smiles and shouts with delight while he is walking with it. He walks from one end of the living room, into the kitchen and hits the cabinets and yells out and bounces up and down until we turn it around and he does it again and again. Today was a nice day so I thought it would be fun for him to go for a "walk". He walked three houses down and then I turned it around and he pushed it back. He really enjoyed going up and down the sidewalk. By the time he had done it a few times, his legs must have been tired because he sat down and wouldn't go any further!!

We had a great Mother's Day yesterday. I was able to take a nice long nap and enjoy Hap's good cooking! It was a very relaxing day spent with my two boys. On another note, Sam turned 10 months yesterday. A few fun things about Sam at 10 months--- he is crawling, cruising, standing independently and likes to walk holding onto our fingers, he loves to push his hippo around and enjoys pushing trucks on the floor, he eats anything and everything in sight, he can wave and say "hi" and loves to repeat over and over "dada", loves his bath and splashing, enjoying being outside but not on the grass, likes to climb up his slide and swing, doesn't like being strapped down in his car seat or stroller, very busy, ticklish, so sweet! Enjoy!

Book.Group.

You might have noticed the side bar that has the "Book of the Month" that I will be reading. Sad to say that I can only read one book in a month, but reading one is a challenge. Some ladies from church are getting together once a month to have the kiddos play together and discuss the book that we read the last month. The last book "The Ministry of Motherhood" was awesome and highly recommended for any mother. She talks about giving our kids GIFTS. Spiritual GIFTS. G stands for gifts of grace, I is the gift of inspiration, F represents the gift of faith, T is the gift of training, and S represents the gifts of service. The author peppers the book with examples from her own life with four children to illustrate how eachday we have a choice to grow our children's faith by giving them these GIFTS. It is definately a book that will be beneficial as Sam grows. Anyone is welcome to join us, we would love to have you and your kids!! Unfortunatly the girls weren't i...

Day.In.Louisville.

Image
Many of my blogging friends have been asking how our LONG day in Louisville went on Monday. Well, if I had to give it a grade I would give it an A-. Sam did really well on the way down, sleeping the entire way. He woke up in a good mood and we were able to walk around the campus, which is quiet hilly I found out after pushing the stroller, and sit on the grass to play. We then went to meet Allison for lunch and that is where the minus comes in. He really was not into sitting still. He was throwing his food and screeching loudly. Poor Allison saw how Sam can be when he needs a nap. He wasn't crying, just not content as normal. We parted ways and went to the car. Before I had pulled out of the parking spot to go to the mall he was asleep. So I window shopped while Sam slept and we headed back to campus. We found a nice shady spot under a tree and sat there for over an hour playing. It was wonderful! So, all in all not a bad day!! And to top it off, it signals Hap's completion of ...

May.

Can't believe it's already May?!?! Sam and I have definately enjoyed the month so far. The weather has been rainy but nice and in between showers we have walked, been outside to play and Sam has discovered new things. He still isn't fond of the grass between his toes but I'm sure that he will get used to it before to long. He likes the bubbles... or as my dad found out today we like playing with the bubbles just as much!! Sam's new thing to do is to crawl under and between anything he can. He likes to crawl all around the table in the kitchen, under his toys, between the chair and the side tables, anything. It's pretty cute when he does it! Tomorrow Sam and I are going to venture down to Louisville with Hap for his finals. I'll be sure to post some pictures of our long day:)
