The Jolliff Family

I have a few pictures that I haven't posted but thought you might enjoy. Jacob is really close to walking.  He can stand up in the middle of the room and play or pick up toys from the floor and stand back up.  I'm in no hurry for him to walk and he seems content crawling still!  He will be running after his brother's as soon as he can walk I have a feeling! This week we finished the Arabic book we have been studying for the last two months.  We have put in long hours of study and we are taking a few days off from study before we begin the next book on Monday.  A cup of hot mint tea makes studying more enjoyable!  I am working on perfecting my cup of tea.  We had a local couple over to our house this weekend and she showed me how she makes her perfect cup.  Mine wasn't as tasty, but I am working on it.  Hap is working on making Arabic coffee.  He has gotten better but when we have them over he put what he a little too much coffee...

It truly seems like just last week we were waiting for the (overdue) arrival of our sweet first born and today we send him off to Kindergarten, the beginning of his schooling years. We had been talking to Sam the last few days about going to Kindergarten.  He has seemed excited and we too are excited that he is able to go to the Arabic Kindergarten.  We are thankful that God opened up this opportunity for him. On Saturday, we bought Sam's school shirt but they didn't have the pants yet.  The shirt is a t-shirt with the school emblem on it.  Sam was so excited he had to wear it on Saturday and we laid his clothes out on Tuesday night so he was all prepared for the morning! Sam picked out his backpack, the blue and black one.  He was so serious about the task and took his time deciding.  He loves it.  He didn't need school supplies but he did pick out a pencil bag and a Spiderman notebook to take to school with him. After we pick the boys up from their babysitters house, one of us continues to study and the boys usually watch afternoon cartoons on our computer.  They have been enjoying "Tom and Jerry" the last couple weeks. They enjoy a snack while they watch, Andrew loves popcorn!  That was their choice today. And what does Jacob do you may wonder?  Well, he helps out around the house of course:) The boys usually watch some cartoons, then we get them outside to play and work off energy when it isn't so hot out!  Tomorrow our schedule will change as Sam starts Kindergarten!  Look for plenty of pictures of his first day tomorrow.

Yesterday we hosted some friends for a birthday party to celebrate two babies turning 1.  Another friend turns 1 today and we thought a joint party would be a fun idea.  We had an ice cream bar with all the toppings and some yummy cupcakes.  I think the decorations turned out cute! The cupcakes were Neapolitan... brownie bottom, strawberry middle with with icing.  My friend did a great job! Sam was so proud to sing Happy Birthday to Jacob and help him blow out the candle... twice:) (Yes, the picture is blurry!) This is the best little boy shot I could get. haha! Jacob loves cupcakes and followed it up by drinking some cold milk! Jacob was blessed with many gifts from our friends.  He enjoyed opening them, with some help from the other three big kids! I took some birthday pictures yesterday of sweet Jacob and I think they turned out great!!  I can't decide which is my favorite, so I posted a bunch:) Jacob is 1!! Slight moment of shock from Jacob when he let the balloons go after I took this picture.  He watched them float up to the sky and couldn't figure out where they went!! So, we moved onto the cake smash. Showing mommy his cupcake! Oh, Jacob you are so precious!  We love you.
