It Takes Two

Image
These two follow each other around and keep the other entertained! This was post bath by the fire tonight and we do realize that Abram's hair looks like Donald Trump.  We will not vote for Donald and we will get this boy's hair cut this week! :) So much fun in the plastics drawer.  I think the drawer looks a little tilted and probably they shouldn't both be in it any more! This was earlier in the day when they both decided to climb into the laundry basket.  Abigail is admiring Abram's hair. These two are awesome!

Around Here

Image
The weather has been cold, icy, and rainy here over the last couple days.  The boys were out of school Monday and Tuesday for the weather but went back today. Jacob brought home some play doh as a prize for having books read to him.  He said only 5 kids were in his class today because of the weather. The Valentines decor came out last week and so the chalkboard was updated. I made soup and rolls one snow day.  To let the rolls rise, I placed then close to the stove... the warmest spot in the house! Everyone, including the twins, loved the rolls and requested them again! We invited some friends over so that Hap could have a competitive game of Scrabble.  Beforehand he played kid scrabble with Sam. Train track set up has been taking place lately. We are so thankful for our stove, particularly when the electricity goes off.  We have had great success with our new electrical wiring but it did go off for the town a few times and w...

Busy Days

Image
I feel like I have only been posting about the twins over the last few weeks but I guess it is because they are home with me all day and they are changing SO much.  These certainly are busy days with these two and we would not want it any other way! As a side note, like Andrew, Abigail does have different clothes and her clothes are clean but I guess we always grab the same sleeper that is on top! These two go where the other one goes.  Here, however, Abigail was going into the box and Abram was just giving her toys! Today was SUCH a beautiful day.  Since it is supposed to turn cold and rainy, we got the twins out to play in the sunshine.  The neighbor girls could not keep their hands off of them! Abram is absolutely everywhere and enjoyed pushing the tricycle around. I have tried the Johnny Jumper on numerous occasions and they just are not that fond of it.  However, Abram did enjoy pushing his sister in it for a bit. More clim...

12 (Almost 13) Month Update

Image
Because of some sickness last month, the babies went for their 12 month check up yesterday.  They checked out just fine and are growing and developing like they should. Abigail Stats: Weight 7.4 kg (which is 16.2 lb) Height 70 cm (which is 27.5 in) Head 45 cm (which is 17.7 in) I actually think Abigail is a bit shorter than that but she had her stand for the first time and Abigail wasn't really into that :) Abram Stats: Weight 7.8 kg (which is 17.1 lb) Height 70 cm (which is 27.5 in) Head 48 cm ( which is 18.8 in) The picture is from the zoo on Sunday.

Indoor Play

Image
After the boys arrived home from school and finished up their school work, the kids and I headed to the indoor play area nearby for some fun.  The babies had never been and it was probably last February since the boys went, so it was overdue. The babies had a BLAST watching all the other kids, climbing on the soft steps and slide, and playing in the ball pit.   I was so busy with the babies that I could not get any pictures of the big boys playing but trust me, they were rose cheeked and sweaty each time they came to check in with me.  The enjoyed some french fries and 2+ hours on running around.  They didn't act tired when we left but I was exhausted.   I had turned the water heater on before going, so the babies have already been bathed and are asleep and the other boys are finishing up their baths and are ready to sit by the fire and watch a movie!  Fun evening and we will be going again in the near future.

Friends

Image
Sam had a friend over last Saturday.  Layar is in his class and she also brought her little sister who is 5.  The kids had a fun time teaching Layar and Alica new games and playing outside! I had all 7 kids by myself while Hap was at work and it was actually a very productive time for me since the boys enjoyed playing with the girls so much and the twins liked the new faces around!  Fun, fun!

Shoes x2

Image
I thought I posted this but didn't... sorry for the delay in pictures.  I have some to catch up on. On Monday we bought the babies a pair of walking shoes!  Abram is really taking off with his walking and almost running when he gets excited.  He is still wobbly but getting stronger.  Abigail has taken a few steps to her daddy but still is crawling everywhere. Abigail liked her shoes but Abram was not so sure. Shoes don't slow this climbing girl down! Abram did NOT like them at first but then got the hang of walking in his shoes. Yesterday was a beautiful day so I brought the babies out to wait for Jacob to arrive home on the bus. They love their new swing!  Thanks Cousins Caleb and Ben! They are really interacting with each other and it is fun to watch them playing!
