Last Day of School

Today was the last day of Sam in the 3rd grade at his school!  I am so proud of him and the work that he has put into his school over the past nine months.  We struggled a bit with motivation but he found it again and finished the year strong.  Next year he will be moving to a new school but we will forever be thankful that we decided to put him in Talitha for the past four years.  His language foundation is amazing and his ability to read, write, and speak , most likely, surpass our ability.  He has made sweet friends, enjoyed going to school each day, and his teachers always comment on what a neat kid he is. We love this boy so much!

Andrew had an amazing 1st grade year at Talitha.  He has such a heart to learn and to work hard.  It is a big jump from Kindergarten to 1st grade here and he did it with flying colours.  He went into the 1st grade able to recognise his Arabic letter and walked out on his last day able to read and write like his peers.  He has put in the time to study with his tutor with a great attitude and it has paid off.  This year we saw Andrew grow more independent from Sam and continue to be a good friend.  He is excited about having the summer off but also had a fantastic year.  He goes into the 2nd grade with a great foundation and we know he will do great next year.  He is such a joy!

Our little, big guy Jacob finished school on Thursday of last week!  He has made big strides this year, going from daycare to a structured school environment.  His favourite little friend from this past year was Liliana and he always had a smile on his face when he walked off the bus.  He enjoyed going to school and worked hard in his classroom.... painting, doing worksheets, and listening to the teacher.  He is ready for Kindergarten and has told me many times he will have a different teacher than Ms. Betty next year but the same friends.  We couldn't have asked for a better year for Jacob and look forward to continuing to watch him grow and learn over the coming years.  Jacob is a sweet boy.

We are so proud of these boys.  They have taken so much transition in stride and have not done the easy thing with school over the past year.  They are troopers and they are happy and we are thankful!

For now, though, we are looking forward to summer!
