Out of Routine!

I am out of the blogging routine for sure but I don't want to be!  So here is catch up with the hopes of doing better.

Last week I met these crazy college friends for some laughing and talking!  I don't know what happened to my soda fountain picture but wow, soda machines have changed in three years!  I didn't know how to work it and I'm not even joking.

On Thursday we headed back to Patoka.  Hap, myself, and the twins stayed Thursday night and headed to Decatur for a Women's event Friday and Saturday.  The boys stayed Friday and Friday night on the farm and had a great time.


The boys have been wanting to fish and they finally got their opportunity.

These pictures are out of order but Andrew caught the first fish :)  He was so proud.

Dane and Jacob are funny together and play very nicely!


On Saturday, the boys headed to Salem to be with my parents for the day and night before meeting up in Decatur on Sunday afternoon.

They went to the fire station for a tour and enjoyed it very much.  They are still talking about it!












On Saturday morning, my cousin Kara and I ran in a 5K and we both medaled ha!!  I have no pictures to prove it so you will just have to trust me on that one!

Saturday night, Becky and Jared had us over to their beautiful home.  We had a fun time and their kids are so precious and well behaved!  Looking forward to seeing them again this summer.  The picture of Becky and I didn't turn out, it was blurry for some reason but a couple other pictures did!

Jared needs to come visit haha!

We arrived back here on Sunday night and have been getting into the routine again with homeschooling, exercising, finishing up my online course, and doing some work!  We have three speaking engagements in the next week that we are looking forward to... I'll try to be better about blogging :)

AJ Early Bird

Today was the first day of cross country season for the Junior High team.  The thing about XC is that the work is put in during the summer months with early morning runs, afternoon runs, track workouts, and hill repeats.  All that work starts to become evident during these days when the races start. Jacob woke up feeling excited to get the season started.  Abigail work up at 5:48am to fix her hair and get ready for the bus.  Abram was pretty nervous as he woke up. 5th grade girls The kids ran their hearts out and did so well for the first meet. Jacob placed 2nd for his team and 3rd overall to help the boys varsity team clutch 1st place for Varsity Boys team.  Abigail looked strong and had an overall 4th place finish for the JV girls and placed 2nd for her team. Abram looked blocked it at the beginning but certainly made up for it with a strong ending to finish 1st place in the JV boys race. Let's go Tigers!

Uncle Nathan, Aunt Heather and Caleb Visit

On Saturday, Nathan, Heather and Caleb came for a visit.  We had an absolutely beautiful day, and we wanted to spend the day outside.  Some people had recommended Maymont Park.  Maymont is a park that is hundreds of acres with a stone castle and barn, some animals, and lots of space for the boys to run around. Andrew wanted to get his boots wet and Aunt Heather supervised.  I am glad we crated more boots! The walk with beautiful and we enjoyed visiting along the way. There was lots of rock climbing... and lots of goats! Jacob and Caleb did a great job riding around in the strollers, but needed some time to stretch too! I love this picture of Nathan and Caleb.  He is such a great daddy and I love to see him with Caleb. Sam enjoyed a cigar at the park too.  (I joke!) The little babies ate some grass. Summer flew by, as it always does, and we are looking forward to a great school year! I forgot a group shot because Sam had Senior Sunrise Breakfast on the first day and was up and going to school at 6:30am!
