Party!

There are many reasons to celebrate in the month of July for the Jolliff Family, mainly being that there are 5 birthday's in this month!  Carl, Sam, Beau, Gigi and Andrew all share July birthday's.  This weekend, we headed to Illinois to celebrate a special birthday, Evelyn's (Gigi) 85th birthday.  All she wanted was for everyone to be together for her birthday, and it worked out!  We didn't know if it was going to work on on Saturday when we got stuck in a major traffic jam west of Indianapolis.  A trip that should have taken us 3 hours ended up taking around 8 hours!!  We made it early, early morning on Sunday and glad we did!

Evelyn's house is close to the church she attends, so we all walked over to the church to worship.  It ended up being Family Day at church and we all enjoyed watching Beau sing with the other kids on stage,  he did great.  The entire Jolliff Family for a picture after church!
Since it was so hot yesterday, instead of meeting at Evelyn's house we headed to Carl and Jessica's house for lunch and dinner conversation, as Hap likes to call it!  The fried chicken, potato salad, fruit, veggies all tasted great and nobody left hungry for sure!  The little boys played outside for the majority of the afternoon and the adults enjoyed time together, watching the Cardinals game and seeing the boys play together.

At 85 years old, Evelyn is doing great.  She can get up and down off the floor with the little ones, can still play a game of chase, likes to laugh, still goes to community dances and enjoys being with her family.  As she mentioned during dinner, she can't remember all the things she once did about her life but she is thankful for her family!  And we are all thankful for her, too!
Happy 85th Birthday, Gigi!!

Great job on blogging (as always!). The pictures turned out super! It was a really great day and I'm so glad that we were all together for the celebration of Gigi's birthday. She told me again last night how happy she was to have all her family together and how much she really enjoyed the day!
