The Big Ugly Burger

This is basically a post about Hap eating... ALOT!  Warning, this could cause you to feel sick to your stomach!
Last night we had a double date with Ben and Amanda to Bub's Pub- Home of the Big Ugly Burger.  The place was packed, so during our wait we headed to the hospital to visit Chris, Robyn and their new baby boy Aiden.  He is precious and has a great head of hair!
Ben and Amanda have been wanting to take us to Bub's so that they could witness Hap eat a 1 pound, after cooking, cheeseburger.  Those who accomplish this task get their picture on the wall.  So, in true Hap style he ordered the burger and started in!  The thing is massive and apparently the bun itself is soaked in a stick of butter.

10 minutes in and he is going strong.  However, he wasn't much for dinner conversation because the  burger left his mouth pretty full!
He paused long enough to smile for a picture but not long enough to swallow the mass amount of beef in his mouth.  I might have said a the word "gross" a couple times during dinner!
Last bite.  No easy task, the kid behind us looked miserable about half way through, he never did finish it!
And 16 minutes later, an empty plate, two proud friends, a proud wife and a really full stomach:)
Hap signing his picture, dedicating it to Ben and Amanda!
We had a fun evening and are thankful to Ben and Amanda for the experience!  Can't wait for our breakfast date where Hap will attempt to eat 12 pancakes and get his picture on the wall for that!!

That's our Son-In-Law! Was that Jolliff Beef? Sure hope so. Proud of you, Hap. What did you have for dessert? Love you.

Just fries for dessert...it must have been Jolliff beef as delicious as the first 3/4lbs were, but the last 1/4 probably wasn't...maybe there were other reasons it wasn't as tasty! Thank you Ben and Mandy - should I have a heaviness in my chest and tingling in my left arm today? :)

We are still impressed! Ben probably woke up and thought he had a dream that Hap downed the Big Ugly in 16 minutes!

Not only am I impressed with the 16 minute finish, I'm also impressed with the 'sunglass clip' behind the ears - first pens, now sunglasses....he is so creative with his storage solutions :) Fun evening out!

Nice work Hap! Did that burger also come with a side order to the ER? Wonder if this is an indicator for your little boys' future appetities-:).
