Weekend Recap
What a fun weekend that all four of us had. On Thursday night, Hap and the two little guys headed back to Patoka for a visit while I headed to work. I had a great night at work and the guys had a fun evening visiting!! On Friday morning, my dear friend Amanda and I headed to Cincinnati for a shopping adventure. Cincinnati is only about 2 hours away and we chatted the entire time and it didn't seem like 2 hours! I learned alot about Southern culture and she learned about hypnobabies:) We arrived at Ikea for a 3 hour shopping adventure! I had never been to Ikea before and was amazed that they sell everything. From, candles to couches to anything else you never knew you needed!
We are at Ikea for a bargain price before headed out for more shopping. Amanda enjoyed some meatballs while I played it safe with a Greek salad. We contained ourselves and left with one handful each (the bags cost money!)
We then ventured over to Jungle Jim's International Market. Again, I was completely overwhelmed. I think we walked through about 7 aisles of Asian food and the same number filled with different pasta! Here is what the entrance looked like!
The inside housed an eclectic assortment of decorations and food from around the world. We both used their restrooms, which have been awarded the "World Cleanest Restrooms". They might have been having an off day!
Amanda purchased a big pretzel which we split. It was amazing!
Some more of the decorations. I think this guy was guarding the section of food from Great Britain.
After being completely worn out from those two stores, we headed to Jeffersonville where we stayed overnight. Our primary purpose was to hit up the Pottery Barn Outlet. This place was so great and the prices definitely beat the Pottery Barn store. Neither of us did to much damage! I would like go back to this outlet mall, it is one of the best I have been to.
I had such a fun time with Amanda. We have so much in common, yet differ in so many ways but can still enjoy eachother without the comparison or jealousy that sometimes women get into! She is such a Godly woman and an amazing friend. We need to plan another time away soon.
While I was away shopping, the boys where busy doing farm stuff and playing with cousins. The enjoyed seeing Papa Jolliff, Grandma Jolliff, Gigi, Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Jay as well as celebrating Uncle Zeb's birthday. I am glad they had a chance to visit!
Sunday afternoon, my dad headed over. He is such a great help and painted our bathrooms for us. He spent all day Monday working on the bathrooms, which looks so great. When he wasn't painting or cleaning, the boys enjoyed playing with him!! He will have to come back over when he can just play:) Thanks for your help, dad!!!!
Then Monday evening, as part of our monthly dinner club with Sunday School, the Long family came over. This was the only picture I took from the evening, as it was a little chaotic with 5 boys and 4 adults! The boys had a fun time playing outside, despite the chilly weather, and the adults enjoyed some inside conversation. The monthly dinner club is such a fun idea and a great way to spend some time with other couples and their families in our Sunday School class!
