Big Day

The babies have had a big day already and it is only noon here!!  Since they were small and twins, the doctor wanted them to have hip ultrasounds to verify that they didn't have hip dysplasia, or improperly formed hip joints.  We went to the local children's hospital this morning for hip ultrasounds on both of them and everything looked just fine.  We were again thankful for their great health.

On the way back from the hospital, we stopped in at a doctor who performs circumcisions.  Because of the Jewish custom of circumcisions being performed on the eighth day, circumcision was not an option for us in the hospital.  The pediatrician recommended after a month of age so that Abram would be smaller.

I went in while Hap and the twins waited in the car.  The doctor's office was clean and small.  The location is a few store fronts down from the barber that we use for the guys in our house! I introduced myself and told him about Abram.  He said "bring the boy to me!"  Ha... not so fast, I had some questions.  After he answered my questions, he again said "bring the boy to me", so I went out to the car to tell Hap.

When we walked back in the office, the barber was standing there and congratulated us.  He then said "I will help him.  I will help do the circumcision and then give him his first hair cut later in the life.  Full service."  I laughed, thinking he was joking and just wanted to see the babies.  But nope, he helped the doctor with the circumcision.  He didn't actually do much besides hold Abram down but it still strikes me as funny.  Anyway, it is finished and the poor little guy.  I might have shed a few tears along with him!

After this picture was taken, he was immediately picked up for a proper cuddling!

And baby sister cried for her brother, too, during the procedure.  It may or may not have been more from hunger pains than sympathy :)

Now, we stay home this afternoon by the fire and enjoy cuddles and kisses from big brothers coming back from school!  Sounds like a perfect end to a big morning.
