What.Else.We.Did.
We did other things in Kharkov besides the Women's Conferences. I can not explain that every thing we did was wonderful and each experience just was better than the last in my opinion! Here is an overview of some of the activities the missionaries are involved in weekly and the ones I had an opportunity to participate in.
One of the first nights we were in Ukraine we went to a Young Woman's Bible Study at Nadia's apartment. These ladies are going through a Bible Study on being good wives. These young women are being discipled by Nadia (one of the pastor's wives in Kharkov) as well as being taught about topcis such as how to be a good wife and mother.
Here I am during one of the classes explaining my husband's name! Someone asked if I was married, then what his name was and so I ended up writing it on the white board and everyone repeated after me. It was funny and they all liked the name:)
Another function we did was prayerwalking around different areas of the city. We hit two primary areas, one in which there is a church plant but they are having difficulty securing a spot for the church and the other in an area in which no church is found and no believers are known to be in the area. We prayed that God would raise up a man in the area of these apartments who can be discipled and can help start a church. We trust that God will work in these areas.
While we were prayer walking in one area the water truck came around to deliver water to the people in the apartment buildings. In one area of apartment complexes there are thousands of individuals living in one small area. The people of Ukraine don't drink water from the faucet so they fill water jugs up to use. This truck is bringing water to the people that will quench their thirst, but who will bring the Living Water to them? The Water that will quench their eternal thirst forever.
"You're the God of this City, you're the Kind of these people
You're the Lord of this Nation, you are.
For greater things have yet to come
And greater things are still to be done in this City."
