The twins are a week old!

Babies first night home.  Even though there are two of them, they look so tiny in the crib together.  We have started putting them closer together, head to head, with a blanket around them and they love sleeping together so close.  They have been snuggled up together for the last nine months!! One proud big brother on Christmas morning! Morning time snuggles. Baby girl put her Christmas bow on.  She has plenty of bows but her head is so small they don't fit. The hospital stay was interesting and different but overall, it was a good experience. Abigail's bilirubin level went up and she ended up under the bili light.  We didn't really think we would be discharged on Tuesday, after 2 days, but her levels went back down, the babies were nursing well, and the pediatrician discharged us to go home on Tuesday afternoon, January 23. I really can't describe just how precious it is to have these twins together.  It's amazing to think of them inside the womb living together and now see them together outside! Tired and happy! They both weighed around 5 pounds upon discharge and looked so tiny in their carseats. Without much ado, they let us walk out of the hospital with the babies! Hap remembered that we started dating on December 23rd and 14 years later, we are walking out of the hospital with babies #4 and #5!  Sweet day!

I am going to try and catch up with my blogging over the next few days of the events of the last week.  It has been an exciting week, to say the least!  Lots of pictures, so that we can remember and document. Since my doctor was on vacation everyday for the last week, besides Sunday, she wanted to see me in the triage unit at the hospital for an ultrasound and monitoring.  After doing all those things and more, it was decided that I was closer to 38 week and the decision was made for induction. The hospital room was all set up for the twins. They started the induction around 12:00 and at 3:40pm on Sunday, December 21st we welcomed sweet Abigail into our arms. She weighed 2.45 kg which is 5.4 pounds.  They didn't measure either of the babies. And then at 3:46pm Mr. Abram came into our lives.  He weighed 2.25 kg which is 4.9 pounds. Two sweet babies!  We were so thankful that they were healthy. One proud daddy. ...
